IBERIAN LINX


IBERIAN LINX

HABITAT

They live in mountains, in forest and bruishes and in the prairie.They like the vegetation to rest and they like the prairie because they can hunt for food.
     

WHERE THEY LIVE?

They only live in Spain.This is a map of all the Iberian linx:

CHARACTERIES

It is a feline.It is bigger than a cat.They are stong.They have long legs(because they need to jump to hunt food),short  tail is 11-25 cm(in the end they have a  black spot), they ears are big and pointed(they have a lock black of 4 cm) and  the face has long hair make sideburn(they appear one year ago).They can live 13 years(but they have to be in freedom).The sole are padding and they afford to move in the snow quietly.They are grey and brown colours.Their eyes are yellow and green.The male is 12.8kg and the female is 9.3 kg.They have 3 different of coats:
1 Spot fine: With a lot of spots, thin and they are uniformly.
2 Spot thick A: The spots are bigger than the spot fine and they are in lines.
3 Spot thick B: They are like spot thick A but they aren’t in lines.

FAMILY GROUP

They are mammals.Because they eat meat and they don´t have eggs.

FOOD

They eat meat. Usually they eat rabbits(there are 80-90% of their diet), but they don´t only eat rabbits they also eat partridge, birds and small mammals .In strange time they eat carrion.They need one rabbit for one day.

REPRODUCION

In Dicember-April it´s the moment to have couple.The female only cople wich a male, but a male can cople wich more than one female.The couple separate before mating.They have to wait 63-70 days to born the baby mammal.The lair normaly is in caves.The baby mammals only opend the eyes nine or ten days after.

CURIOSITIES

1The Iberian linx is the kind of felines more threaten in the world.
2 There are only wild 1,200.
3 The rabbits have dicrease and it has effect to the linx.
4 The first linx born in captivity was born in 2005.
5 They only live 13 years.

RARE ANIMALS

     
NAME:   Platypus
HABITAT: Rivers and lakes
WHERE IT LIVES: Eastern Austria and Tasmania
CHARACTERISTICS: Weighs: 1 and 2 kg.
                                                Longitude: 40cm
                                                Longevity: 30 years
FAMILY GROUP: It is the only species in its family 
FOOD: Its power is carnivore
REPRODUCTION: Put between 1 and 2 eggs, incubation lasts 10 days, calves measure 25mm and constructs a nest digging a tunnel of 17 m.
CURIOSITIES: Mammal semiaquatic, mammal that put eggs, they mate in the water.

Liger

Where it lives: In the Gir forest, in India.

 Class: Mammalia

Species: Panthera leo x tigris.

Characteristicsthe Liger is the product of a cross between a male lion and female tiger.

Food: They are predatory carnivores, like their parents, and can weigh up to 500 kg and measure about 5 feet in length, so we see that the Liger is bigger in size than their parents. This is due, no doubt, to growth inhibitors are always inherited from the mother in the case of the father lion and tiger in the case so that the Liger will grow all their lives because they inherited this factor.
They are carnivores, like their parents so thry eat all kinds of animals of any size.
They can eat, deers, monkeys, some fish, peacocks, rabbits, etc..

Habitat: The liger is a product of human hands, so it is usually found in captivity.


Reproduction: Sometimes can have pups, but normaly no.

Mandarin Duck

Name: Mandarin Duck

Habitat: They live in Russia, China and Japan.

Where it lives: in zones with forest and near peaceful lakes.

Characteristics: they are about 45cm tall and they are around 500g. The male shows intense colours during the reproduction time but the female has pale colours.

Family group: in winter they travel with other duck groups.

Food: Their diet is always vegetables: seeds and other plants.

Reproduction: They do their nests in trees. Males and females incubate the eggs. The female puts about 9 or 10 eggs.

Curiosities: in Asia, people think that the Mandarin Ducks give money and luck. It's a typical present in inportant weddings.
